  • STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • MATERIALS

Teachers and student will discuss needed materials depending on level and instrument.

    ATTENDANCE/PAYMENTS/CANCELLATION

    • The instructor will contact the student prior to the beginning of classes to schedule a time slot with the student.
    • Students are responsible for their time slot with the instructor.
    • If a student is not available for their weekly lesson for any reason and gives their instructor prior notice for the absence, the instructor will offer some potential time slots for a makeup lesson.
    • Classes must be paid for in advance. The student will not be able to resume lessons until payment is received.
    • A late fee charge of $5 will be added for every week to an unpaid invoice. After 3 consecutive weeks, the student slot will be considered forfeited and lessons stopped.
    • Returned checks are subject to a $35 penalty.
    • In addition to this, students are asked to contact their teacher 24 hours in advance if a student will be unavailable for their lesson. If the student doesn’t notify with reasonable lead time or doesn’t show, the students will not have access to a makeup lesson. Emergency situations are on case-by-case scenario.
    • In addition, in an effort to plan our lessons accordingly and to provide you with the best service, students who no longer wish to continue lessons must provide a 30-day notice and will still be responsible for completing the associated months’ lesson payments.

    PRACTICING

    • Each teacher instructs how much practice is ideal for each student and will encourage students in their practicing. Nevertheless, once the lesson is
over, the student is responsible to practice throughout the week.
    • Progress will be made most quickly by those students who maintain the recommended practicing time each week.
    • Parents are also encouraged to be involved in their student's practice. Taking the time to listen to your child play their weekly songs, or creating a set time for practicing in the students daily routine are good ways to become involved.
